We use this chariot in the Exodus story when Pharaoh sends his army after the people of Israel. Several chariots have been found in ancient tombs, often in wall paintings but in Tutankhamen's tomb an actual chariot was found. The Egyptians used them in war and they carried archers. The frame was made of wood and they would have just two wheels, each with 4 or 6 spokes.
Egyptian Chariots were light compared to those used by other armies of the time. They were built for speed and would usually have carried two men, although there are pictures showing only one.
