Episode 11

The harness holds the horses so that they can pull the chariot - we still use harnesses today!

You can see how we think these worked from the notes in the picture. Some Egyptian paintings show a mouth bit and reins running from a pair of horses, yoked (held together) from the middle. Other examples appear not to use mouth bits at all. We decided to use bits and reins as we have plenty of evidence to support that design.
